Homemade Pull Up Bar
Are you trying to make a homemade pull up bar? You can easily make one yourself or just buy one for a tiny prices that will save you the time. Either way you will end up with a great workout and a homemade pull up bar is better than no pull up bar at all!
You can make a homemade pull up bar with a 40 inch long plumbing pipe, two L-shaped end joints, two mounting brackets or plates, screws, one 1ft X 4ft thick wooden plank, and one roll of towel grip.
Before you even start make sure that the plumbing pipe is very strong. I fyou make the whole thing and then the pipe bends under your weight you wil be very annoyed indeed! You want to attach the L-end joints to the end of the pipe nd bind them tightly and glue them with strong adhesive.
You wil only need the wooden plank if you arent’ going to mount the bar on a wall. If you want to install it in your doorway or in the wall you only need to drill a couple of holes and secure the pipe pull up bar!
If you want to install the bar on your ceiling it’s best to use a plank of wood for extra strenght or you could have a large piece of ceiling falling down on you! Use the towel grip to create a firm grip for the plumbing pipe to make pull ups that much easier. And there you have it – your very own homemade pull up bar.
When you are working out on your new bar, you want to think about which area of your back, shoulders and arms you would most lke to exercise and build up. Pull ups, with an overhand grip, tend to focus the effort more on the back, where as chin ups, with an under hand grip, tend to focus more on the biceps. Also, if you do either with a wider grip you will build up your back and shoulder muscles more, and if you do pull ups or chin ups with a narrow grip then the focus s onthe muscles in your arms, most notably the biceps, and the foreamrs, and not so much the back muscles.
It’s best to do a variety. Pull ups and chin ups are by far one of the very best exercises for upper body strength and size. So go and enjoy your new homemade pull up bar and al the benefits it will give you!
